Spotted: Men’s Spring 2013 Trends Straight From Milan
So we all know I am obsessed with any fashion week! I love the atmosphere and I love seeing the creativity put forth! Milan Men’s Fashion Week for Spring 2013 ended yesterday. I shifted through all the shows and was dazzled by the amazing looks and coming trends. Here are some of the top trends that I spotted:
Alexander Mcqueen | Burberry | Canali | Ermenegildo Zegna | Roberto Cavalli
Oh boy! Looks like things are about to get shiny! Metallic was all over the collections and I am liking it completely! Burberry had my favorite rendition of the trend. The collection had metallic everything! My favorites were the trench coat and the button-down shirts.
Burberry | Canali | Fendi | Roberto Cavalli | Salvatore Ferragamo
If you love bright, you’re going to love the most seen color–turquoise! I personally love to flaunt this color (it brings out my eyes) because it’s eye-catching! What says spring more than a bright blue?
Bottega Venetta | Calvin Klein | Canali | Gucci
Typically floral pops up in women’s collections but it made its way to the men’s this season! The type of floral is not super masculine looking but it does set itself apart from the floral associated with a Hawaiian shirt. Will you embrace the flowery print?
Dolce & Gabbana | Giorgio Armani | John Varvatos | Versace | Z Zegna
I don’t know about you but I love my clothing fitted. Just about every collection had some form of an oversized suit. The collections still showcased a fitted suit but a bigger cut clearly will be a big trend! I don’t know if I could rock it, but maybe you can.
Gucci | Corneliani | Emporio Armani | Ermenegildo Zegna | Neil Barrett
This is easily one of my favorite trends. There is nothing like a great leather jacket to sport at any time of the year–add some color and you have one amazing jacket! I think Emporio Armani’s navy is my favorite.
Emporio Armani | Giorgio Armani | Jil Sanders | Neil Barrett | Z Zegna
Not everyone can make this oversized shorts work, but if you can, make it happen! There were a ton of short shorts spotted on the runway too, but definitely the designers had a preference for the larger kind. Looks like bigger cuts are huge in Spring 2013.
Calvin Klein | Dolce & Gabbana | Jil Sanders | Valentino | Z Zegna
I hope you are seeing the motif playing out–bigger is better. Are you ready for bigger clothing?
Bottega Venetta | Canali | Ermenegildo Zegna | Gucci | John Varvatos
Normally a double-breasted suit jacket is seen as old-fashioned or just worn by an older generation. Well, button up! These jackets were everywhere! They were also seen in a ton of colors. Forget the black or blue suit, go for color!
Alexander McQueen | Fendi | Gucci | Jil Sanders | Trussardi
You know that pale blue crayon you never used from your crayon box as a child? Well, it’s an ‘it’ color for Spring 2013. I like how it balances the bright turquoise. If you don’t want to be loud, you can rock this cornflower blue.
What do you think of the trends I spotted? Let me know!
