HOV Lane

I’m on a bow tie spree lately! I can’t get enough and I won’t have enough! I saw this plaid blue bow tie on The Tie Bar and knew immediately I needed it. I kind of went a little matchy with my teal shirt, but I like the combo. The color pops against the dark pants.

One of my favorite parts of warm weather is not having to wear socks. I don’t think you will catch me wearing socks often; it’s just too hot to deal with them.

They also have the latest trends. I spotted an AWESOME pair of red jeans to go on the colored denim trend. Tanks are always a summer essential and the bright Diesel tanks will help you stand out. Of course, you can’t go anywhere in the summer without sunglasses. As soon as you walk in the store there is a giant case of sunglasses. Can you say Ray Ban?

TAGG, You’re It

Summer is around the corner, so why not stock up on they gay staple outfit–open short sleeve shirt, tank, and tight fitting shorts. This outfit (minus the tank and shoes) were provided by TAGG. If you haven’t checked out the store, do so! Keep reading and you’ll find out why (hint: discount)!

Of course we know I am afraid of color and that I am slowly integrating it into my closet, so I started with just a pop of color–red Fayban sunglasses and red Urbaners headphones. As the warmer weather continues, you’ll start to see bright blues, greens and maybe even some ‘warm’ colors mixed in!

If there is one kind of shirt you see me repeatedly wear, it’s a plaid shirt. I love plaid and I can’t help it. Make it a checkered black & white pattern and you have me happy! What I love most about this shirt is that is comes from the brand, Garcon Garcia which is an Argentinian brand. Having a piece that is found overseas allows you to have an article of clothing others won’t have! You’ll set yourself apart! Luckily TAGG carries this pieces from this brand. LOVE!

I’m also quite happy with the Urbanears headphones. Red is definitely not one of my favorite colors. But, when I threw the pair in my ears and listened to the new Nicki Minaj album, the sound was so clear that my Apple headphones no longer sufficed. Find the color that fits you the best at TAGG.

Ah! The tight fitting shorts that will be my staple this summer. Add a bright color tank with these Comune shorts and you have a fun summer outfit! The one thing I hate is the dragging down of cargo shorts. These Comune shorts are light feeling so you get just forget about cargo shorts completely–these are the replacement.

And my sunglasses collection keeps on growing! These red Faybans are the subtle color every outfit needs. Throw them when you’re wearing toned-down colors (the outfit) and it brings some red spice to complete the look. SUPER FUN!

And now the moment you have been waiting for….

Everyone who mentions danchiz.com at TAGG (720 Ninth Ave, NYC) gets 15% their purchase for the whole month of APRIL!!!

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GO GO GO!

Wide Awake

Continuing a way to beat the chill (with other than a light jacket) is with a cardigan! Not that I need to say it, I just wanted to wear and show. And why not bring out my favorite kind of cardigan–a shawl cardigan.

Fun fact about my tie: I got it in Canada. During my sophomore year of college, I went to Montreal for my spring break to do community service. Yes, I spent my spring break in cold, frigid weather with mounds of snow while recycling. It was actually one of the best experiences of my life but I also learned never to go to Canada when the weather is even semi-cold. It is a tundra.

This is my 3rd new pair of Marc by Marc Jacobs aviators. Get ready to see a lot of them throughout my posts. Am I going to get more? You better know it!

I finally remembered to make a gif…you’re welcome.

Boy Gone Wild

It’s April! Time to bring in the green…accessories. Put on my Olsenboye sunglasses and J.Crew green tie. Throw over a navy jacket with green plaid inside and boom, green everywhere! I wish it came in the form of Benjamins…one day!

In between weather means light jacket weather. No more layers upon layers. A light jacket will do the trick. Or you can opt for a cardigan (next post) to keep the chill away.

Silver & Spice

This past weekend was my birthday. I was lucky enough to spend my birthday at the Night of a Thousand Gowns (a black tie gala event that raises money for different non-profit organizations). Everyone dresses extravagantly and over-the-top. I am not one to wear glitter or sequins (though I did debate it) so I did my version of over-the-top…silver pants.

I kind of love this look and I am so proud for thinking of it. I kept glancing at my reflection at any chance I could. #sorryimneversorry

The blue blazer is awesome and was one of the design on NBC’s Fashion Star. When I saw this, I new the rest of the outfit needed to be made around this blazer. I still needed that over-the-top factor, though. Navy and grey paired together is one of my fav combos. Grey sparked the silver and voila! You have this look.

Dark Rising

This past weekend I took a lovely work trip to Boston. Visiting my old college city was extremely cool. I didn’t get to do much shopping or wandering because I unfortunately was either travelling or working throughout the whole day. But, I knew I couldn’t leave Boston without doing an outfit post! Therefore, night time on my hotel balcony (Radisson…soon to be Revere Boston) it is!

The weather in Boston was GORGEOUS for most of the weekend. Short sleeve shirts were a must! I couldn’t resist letting the nerd inside me out with the checkered button-down. Add a plaid tie and the geek transformation was complete!

Midnight at the Hunger Games

To the midnight premier of Hunger Games, @stevienyc designed District 12 inspired t-shirts and mockingjay pins for me and him. I was a little lazy and didn’t feel like changing so I threw it over what I was wearing.

I loved loved loved the movie. It stayed pretty true to the books and it’s exciting from start to finish. Katniss is a beast! GO SEE IT NOW.

I was placed in District 7 (lumber) on The Capitol’s site. What District are you?

Casetagram My Heart

…and say our love will never die. Ok, I’ll stop quoting a Britney song. But really…I love my new Casetagram cover for my iPhone. In a previous I mentioned how cool Casetagram was and I finally created my own.

I choose Instagram photos that I thought represented me and my life pretty well. I put a little NYFW, sushi, NYC, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, my puppy, etc. What do you think? Will you make your own?
